Seeing the crowds, he climbed the mountain. As he sat down, his disciples approached him. And he began to speak and teach, saying, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are the afflicted, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied.
